It’s the 2 year anniversary of finding a very malnourished dog close to our home that showed signs of abuse leading to the belief of him being used as a “bait dog”  (a dog used as bait for dog fighting which other stronger dogs use to train).  Mason was covered with hundreds of ticks, very thin, and covered with wounds all over his body, including bird shot in one of his ears and head.  He needed a long time to recover physically and is still recovering physiologically.

Although he still has some issues, Mason is a great dog, he loves riding in the truck and running in the yard chasing the hawks that fly over head, but he still has moments when he becomes very uncomfortable and frightened for seemingly no reason.  He has become a loving part of our family and has shown us that dogs are unbelievable forgiving even after experiencing the worst of humanity.
